The Oracles

FAQ

Before you ask.

The questions we get most, answered in one place. If something isn’t covered, contact the studio and we’ll pick it up from there.

01

What is The Oracles, and why does this work exist?

The Oracles exists because we believe Christians should love, steward, and ultimately lead in the arts. That’s not the case now. Our screens are filled with material, done very well, that often promotes agendas, ideas, and principles that run counter to the way God has ordered the world. We began this project with the conviction that Jesus owns the arts, not the culture.

02

Who is a good candidate to be featured?

People who believe deeply in what they’re doing, see their work as a promotion of God’s good law and character, and want to tell that story on film. What they often lack is the resources to do it well. If that sounds like you or an organization you know, we’d like to hear from you.

03

What does the process look like, from first conversation to finished film?

We begin with a pre-production consultation, where we set:

  • Timelines
  • Goals
  • Target audience and platform
  • A clear picture of the story you want to tell

From there we schedule production, then move into post with defined deadlines for edits and review rounds. You’re a collaborator at every step.

04

Is there a cost to the subject, and how is the work funded?

Small film production carries a significant cost in time and equipment. Our clients don’t pay it. Every project is underwritten by donors, grants, and partnerships, so the story (not the budget) drives the work.

05

How can donors support the work, and where does the money go?

Good film production is expensive. Most of our projects come in under industry standard and still deliver professional editing, color grading, and gear (cameras, lighting, lenses, microphones) at the level the story deserves. Donors are what make that possible. They enable us to offer studio-caliber support to people and organizations who otherwise couldn’t access it.

Contributions are processed by Urban Skye, a U.S. 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.

06

Who owns the final film, and how is it shared?

The Oracles retains the rights so we can steward each film long-term: festivals, educational use, archives, and distribution through our channels. Clients also receive non-copy-protected originals to distribute as they please. Our goal is simple. The story reaches the people who most need to see it.
